Oh, hello. My name is Hana Fujita (she/her) and I am AMWA Berkeley’s Gender and Sexual Health Committee Head. I’m in my third year as a Molecular and Cell Biology Major. Since fall of my first year, AMWA has always been one of my favorite communities at Cal and I find it so inspiring to be surrounded by such brilliant and lovely company. Now as an officer, I am so thankful for the opportunity to provide a loving space for all the AMWA girls, similar to the love I received when I joined. Sexual and reproductive health and rights has been an interest of mine since junior high, and I was ecstatic to find a place on campus to continue my passion of advocating for the health of all people. Outside of AMWA, there’s nothing I love more than early mornings, mealtime conversations, the smell of a new country, and the great outdoors. Growing up in Morgan Hill (just south of San Jose, CA), I was so fortunate to be in close proximity to beaches and forests, so much of my time was spent in nature with people I love. I am beyond excited to have AMWA be a part of my journey in medicine and continue to grow alongside all the wonderful people I have gotten to know in the club. Cheers!
