Hello! My name is Neeraja (she/her) and I’m super excited to be serving as AMWA’s President this year! I’m currently a 4th year majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Developmental Genetics. I grew up in the Bay Area, and some of my hobbies include baking, singing, going to coffee shops, and taking walks around campus. I joined AMWA in my first semester at Berkeley and loved how supportive and non-judgmental the environment was. As a member of the Diversity in Medicine committee, I’ve been able to work on many projects which spread awareness about the lack of diversity in medicine. What I love most about AMWA is that it allows everyone to make their voice heard and provides its members with amazing opportunities on both school-wide and national levels. I also love the supportive community it fosters; seeing the passion that AMWA members have for our community and for medicine is so inspiring! I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and for another great year with AMWA!
